Terms of use

This site is published by Avenor France SAS and LBMGB LLC, trading as Avenor USA. “We” and “Avenor” mean both companies. Using the site means you accept these terms. If you do not, stop using it.

Much of what we publish deals with US import rules — FDA facility registration, FSVP, Prior Notice, TTB requirements, state alcohol law, labelling. We write it because the rules are badly explained elsewhere and we work with them daily.

It is still general information about how these regimes usually work. It is not legal advice, customs advice, or tax advice, and reading it creates no professional relationship between us. Regulations change, agencies revise their guidance, and the answer for your product may turn on facts we know nothing about.

Before you commit money to a shipment, a label, or a corporate structure, get advice from a qualified professional on your specific facts. If you rely on an article here instead and it goes wrong, that is a decision you made.

The calculators produce estimates from the figures you enter, using assumptions we chose. They are there to give you an order of magnitude and to show which variables matter. Every one of them will be wrong in the specifics for your business.

Do not use an output as a quote, a landed cost, a budget you commit to, or a number you show an investor without checking it against real quotes.

The articles, guides, photography, calculators, and the Avenor name and wordmark belong to us or to whoever licensed them to us. They are protected by copyright and trade mark law.

What you may do

• Read, print, and share the pages for your own business purposes.
• Quote a short passage with attribution and a link back to the page.
• Send a colleague a link, always.

What you may not do

• Republish an article in whole or in substantial part, on any site or in any publication.
• Sell our material, or put it behind your own gate.
• Scrape the site at scale, or use it to train a model, without our written agreement.
• Use the Avenor name or wordmark in a way that suggests we endorse you.

We are usually glad to say yes to a reuse request. Ask at privacy@avenor-na.com.

When you submit a form, book a call, or reply to an email, keep confidential material out of it until we have a confidentiality agreement in place. A booking note is not a secure channel. We would sooner tell you that now than receive something we should not have.

You keep ownership of what you send. You give us permission to use it to answer you and to prepare for the conversation, which is all we want it for. What we do with the personal data in it is set out in the privacy policy.

We do not promise the site will be available, complete, or free of errors. We change and remove pages as the rules change and as our thinking does. Nothing here is a commitment to keep a particular page online.

Where we link to another site — an agency, a regulation, a partner — we do not control it and are not responsible for what it says.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from your use of this site or your reliance on anything published here. That includes lost profit, lost business, and the cost of a shipment that went wrong.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. In some countries that list is longer, and your rights as a consumer are unaffected.

These terms cover the website. They do not govern any engagement between us. That is a separate signed agreement, and where the two disagree, the engagement agreement wins.

These terms are governed by French law, and the courts of Paris have jurisdiction over any dispute about them. If you use the site as a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country you live in, and you may bring proceedings there.

We update these terms as the site changes. The date at the top tells you which version is in force, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
